Trevor HolmesAs Senior Instructional Developer, Programming, Trevor Holmes plans and delivers workshops and events in support of faculty across the career span. Prior to joining the Centre for Teaching Excellence, Trevor worked at a variety of universities teaching courses, supporting faculty and teaching assistants through educational development offices, and advising undergraduates. Trevor’s MA is from York University in English Literature, also the home of his nearly-complete PhD dissertation on gothic literature. A popular workshop facilitator at the national and international levels, Trevor is also interested in questions of identity in teaching and teaching development.

  • Co-Editor of special edition of the International Journal for Academic Development: “Thinking Otherwise in Academic Development” (12:1, 2007)
  • Published three essays in the field of gothic studies and popular culture in 2007

  • 2009-2010 Chair of the Council of Ontario Educational Developers, an Affiliate of the Council of Ontario Universities
  • Co-founded the Educational Developers Caucus of the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, serving two terms as Vice-Chair, Communications
  • Won the 1997 York University Senate Committee on Teaching & Learning Parents’ Association University-Wide Teaching Award for Teaching Excellence)
